HOLIDAY GIFTS COME EARLY AT PARK CITY MOUNTAIN RESORT

Nearly Three Feet of Snow in Three Days

PARK CITY, Utah – (Dec. 18, 2006) Park City Mountain Resort received an early holiday present as nearly three feet of snow blanketed the Resort in three days. The fresh powder almost doubled the previous snow depth from 21 inches to the current report of 40 inches mid-mountain.

"This is the biggest storm cycle we’ve had all season and it arrived just in time to treat our holiday guests to exceptional conditions,” said Peter Curtis, president and general manager of Park City Mountain Resort. “Our mountain operations team is working overtime to get the entire mountain open.”

By this weekend, the Resort expects to have all 15 lifts open for skiers and riders. Jupiter lift will open on Tuesday, December 19, with access to more than 750 acres of bowl terrain. In addition, the Resort’s terrain parks, named “Terrain Park(s) of the Year” by Transworld Snowboarding Magazine for the third year in a row, will open as well as the Eagle Superpipe, one of North America’s largest superpipes. Be sure to look for Park City All-Star Shaun White as he trains in the Resort’s Jonesy’s terrain park and the Eagle Superpipe.

Holiday guests can enjoy the Resort’s traditional torchlight parade on Sunday, December 24 at 6 p.m. The Resort’s Ski and Snowboard School will once again take part in the annual torchlight parade, making its way down PayDay run. Last season's torchlight parade was recently featured on the USA Network’s TV special "The Great American Christmas."

Night skiing/riding operations will begin on Monday, December 25 with both PayDay and First Time lifts open until 7:30 p.m. Guests can enjoy skiing/riding under the lights on PayDay and First Time runs.
