PARK CITY MOUNTAIN RESORT PUSHES BACK ITS SCHEDULED OPENING DAY
Park City, Utah (November 15, 2007) – Park City Mountain Resort, ranked a top-ten resort in North America by the readers of SKI and Skiing magazines, has pushed back its scheduled opening day, Friday, November 16, for the 2007-08 season. The Resort will open once conditions permit.
“We always strive to provide our guests with the best skiing and riding experience, and unfortunately we have not received the cold temperatures and natural snowfall that we need to open on our scheduled day,” said Peter Curtis, president and general manager of Park City Mountain Resort. “So far we’ve made 30 acre feet of snow, and ideally we would like to have 70 acre feet of snow on the ground for optimal conditions. We are hopeful that within the next week we will get the temperatures needed so we can open by Thanksgiving weekend. Regardless, the Alpine Coaster will open for the season on Wednesday, November 21."
According to the WeatherBank forecast, a cold front will drop into the Park City area on Monday ushering in a much colder air mass. A chance of snowfall is predicted for Monday through Wednesday of next week with temperatures mostly in the 30s.
In addition to the Alpine Coaster beginning operation on Wednesday, November 21, Park City Mountain Resort’s Legacy Sports, Kristi’s Coffee Café and Legends Bar & Grill will also open for guests to enjoy.
Hours of Operation are as follows:
Alpine Coaster: 10 am to 4 pm
Legacy Sports: 10 am to 5 pm
Kristi’s Coffee Café: 10 am to 4 pm
Legends Bar & Grill: 11 am to 5 pm
Gorgoza Park, owned by Park City Mountain Resort, will announce its official opening date in the coming weeks.
