Spring Concert Series

Location: Canyons Village Stage

Park City Mountain Resort kicks off its annual Spring Concert Series on Saturday, February 13! Through April 9, free après concerts will take place at 3:00PM every Saturday, as well as select Fridays and Sundays, on the Canyons Village Stage and starting March 5, in the Park City Base Area; on Legacy Lodge's PayDay Deck. Get ready to groove as these performers showcase an assortment of music genres ranging from rock and blues to reggae and global sounds.

Minneapolis based reggae rockers Jon Wayne and The Pain have been carving a sizeable niche in the reggae-rock genre.  Their third release "Surrender" builds upon the success of the groups' sophomore album which adds Jam and EDM to their unique mix of Reggae, Rock and Dub that fans can't get enough of.

Full of individual talent, the band members are all incredibly accomplished, seasoned musicians who are eager to share their music with the world.

Influenced by the Grateful Dead and Phish, among many others, Mokie was forged by a shared love for the master jam bands and the spontaneous musical conversations they conjure. So, that's what they’re shootin' for, and apparently that's what the jam fans like!

Lash LaRue is a Park City musical power group formed in the spring of 2009. Influenced by Hank Williams, Bob Dylan and anything still smoldering in its old record sleeve, this band provides audiences with that old-fashioned country blues sound they’ve been searching for.

Dumpstaphunk: on the Canyons Village Stage
Dumpstaphunk is a well-known group from New Orleans, showcasing the finest in groove, funk, and jazz melodies to create an upbeat and irresistible sound. Songs like “Dancin’ to the Truth” and “If I’m In Luck” offer a taste of the deep rhythms this group can produce.

Bryon Friedman & Friends: on the Canyons Village Stage
From spacious ballads, smoke filled grooves, and tongue-in-cheek pop songs, Bryon Friedman easily navigates the over-crowded waters of the singer-songwriter domain and sails gently and confidently toward firm ground. “Matchstick Memories”, Bryon’s second full length release is full of autobiographical storytelling, direct communication and wishful thinking.

John Brown's Body: on the Canyons Village Stage
John Brown’s Body is a contemporary American reggae band that steps outside the normal standards of the genre, incorporating elements of other beats to create a fresh sound anyone can enjoy. The band formed in Ithaca, NY in the 1990’s, and has since exploded their identity through experimentation of instruments and vocals. “Land Of Plenty Dub” and “Bread” are two hits that demonstrate the variety within their sound.
     

3:00 - 5:00 Motherlode Canyon Band
Motherlode Canyon Band: on the PayDay Deck Stage at Legacy Lodge
Formed in 1993, the Park City based Motherlode Canyon Band centers their sound around strong vocals, guitar work and energy. The band’s repertoire extends from acoustic and folk, to classic rock and progressive rock. You may recognize their name and their sound from one of several of their appearances throughout the 2002 Olympics, when they opened for Sheryl Crow at her Park City show.

Monophonics: ON SNOW at the Park City Base Area's First Time chairlift base

Raised amid the rich musical culture and history of the San Francisco Bay Area, Monophonics proudly carry the torch through the generations into today’s musical landscape. Holding on to tradition, but by no means purists of any kind, they play their own brand of music known as “Psychedelic Soul.” Touching on Northern soul, doo-wop, rock and roll, Psych pop, and cinematic music, Monophonics show off their diversity while remaining true to their roots

Michael Franti & Spearhead: ON SNOW at the Park City Base Area's First Time chairlift base
With 11 albums and countless hit singles, Michael Franti, with his band Michael Franti & Spearhead, will be on stage to perform their famously upbeat music. Their latest single “Once A Day” highlights the eclectic arrangements that are commonly found in their music. Other classics are “Say Hey (I Love You)” and “The Sound of Sunshine”. Often captured in their lyrics are the promotion of health, love, and well-being which engage the audience in a very energetic way.

Tallgrass delivers a distinct sound that combines gravel road vocals, quick-picked strings, and a stomping rhythm section. The trio’s three-part harmonies backed by drums, bass, guitar, and banjo grow big rhythm into heartfelt, original music.

The Park City based rock-and-roll band Muddpuddle thrills audiences with a blend of original and cover music in a wide variety of styles. Muddpuddle’s sound touches on alt country, classic rock, and blues to provide a unique blend of live music.

A 4-piece funk and jump blues band. Tony is a rising force on the national harmonica scene. Touring the US 6-8 months a year, Tony was recently listed by Blues Harmonica Player as one of the top 12 up and coming harmonica players in the US!

MAW Band: on the PayDay Deck Stage at Legacy Lodge
Maw Band is a quickly rising, powerful, acoustic driven rock band. With influences like Dave Matthews Band, Slightly Stoopid, and Jack White, MAW BAND’s music combines curious sounds and rhythms with insightful lyrics and rockin’ beats. The group has released 3 records in the last 2 1/2 years and is working on a 4th to be released in the winter of 2016!

The Breakfast Club is a high energy rock / dance 80’s tribute band, whose every song is a hit that brings the house down with spontaneous, exuberant ‘I know this song!’ sing alongs.”Moon walk down memory lane with The Breakfast Club as they spin you right round to all the radical sounds, styles, and way cool dance steps from the 1980’s Inover-the-top retro 80’s attire.
