The Park City Performing Arts Foundation is inviting women and those who love women to wear red, walk out, dance, rise up and demand an end to violence against women, as part of the ONE BILLION RISING movement. PCPAF will be holding this dance on Town Lift Plaza at noon on Thursday, Feb. 14.
About V-Day and ONE BILLION RISING: V-Day is a global activist movement to end violence against women and girls. V-Day is a catalyst that promotes creative events to increase awareness, raise money, and revitalize the spirit of existing anti-violence organizations. On V-Day’s 15th Anniversary, 14 February 2013, we are inviting ONE BILLION women and those who love them to WALK OUT, DANCE, RISE UP, and DEMAND an end to violence against women. ONE BILLION RISING will move the earth, activating women and men across every country. V-Day wants the world to see our collective strength, our numbers, our solidarity across borders.
All summer I’ve been talking about exploring what happens after Shadow Lake, with fall in full swing, I decided it was now or never. After mapping together a group of trails that would give us several downhill thrills and only a few climbs, we drove to the top of Guardsman for a nine mile downhill, cross country ride.
Time to dig out the flip-flops, pull the cover off the grill and enjoy those lazy summer days. But if you think we're sitting back and putting our feet up during the dog days, think again. We open for summer on Friday, May 24 (just in time for Memorial Day Weekend) and we've got a couple new summer wrinkles in addition to our classic adventures.
