Our newest avalanche dog, Lily, just started her on-mountain training a couple weeks ago, and the lab-pointer mix pup has been turning heads everywhere she goes (you can see why below).

Lily struts her stuff on the snow.
Lily may be small enough to fit inside our patrollers' helmets right now, but she's already made her local TV debut on KSL Channel 5 last week. She was joined by mountain patrollers Sierra Prothers and Hutch Foster, as well as fellow avy dog Calamity Jane, live in-studio where Sierra and Hutch talked about what kind of training goes into preparing an avalanche dog for their service, and what exactly our mountain patrol relies on them for. Watch the segment below:

This week, you can meet Lily for yourself during any of our live meet and greets in the resort plaza! She'll be saying hi to guests in the resort plaza from 11:15-12:00 pm Monday through Friday this week: meet her in-person and talk to patroller Sierra about what Lily's done so far, and what the next steps of her training will be. Look for them outside Legacy Lodge every day this week, and get to know our newest team member!
Hi met Sierra and Lilly on Tues at Park City. Lilly is just too cute!
I belong to Monmouth Ski Club in NJ/VT. We have past members that have relocated to
Park City and many who visit each year. I am going to run a 50/50 fund raiser to get some resources for Lilly's veterinary care costs at our up coming race weekend ski party which is with Monmouth Ski Club, Telemark Ski Club and Ski Club of NJ. About 100 people and many that go to Park City as well. If I could get Sierra's contact or that of the avalanche patrol service in order to forward the funds, it will be greatly appreciated.
