I met Thomas at Crescent lift at just after 9:00am this morning and headed up for a quick mission to get some turns and photos in (in that order, or course). We saw that snow safety work still being conducted on the Crescent Ridge runs so we headed directly over to Pioneer lift where we hooked up with Todd and made several sweet runs before heading down to Silverlode for one more and then back down for a really fun hour and a half jaunt. But, enough of this, check out the 'goods':
Eric, have the higher temperatures been affecting the snow negatively in anyway? What temperature generally does if have to be for snow to start melting? I would assume that even if its a bit below freezing that the beating sun can still cause melting. Eric replies: John, I'm not a weather person, and while I can say that I've seen the sun melt snow with temps still below freezing, I unfortunately am not the person to answer your questions. However, I did find some interesting information about snow at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snow hope that helps!

Do you think Jonsey's park will be open by the weekend? Eric replies: Jan, I just spoke w/Jeremy (our Parks manager) and he's hoping to have Jonesy's, Pick 'N Shovel and the superpipe open on Thursday!
We're coming out on Friday and snowboarding Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Do you think any more runs will be open by then? I've always been out there during Mardi Gras so I was shocked to see alot of the runs closed! The recent snow has put me in a better mood though! Eric replies: Warren, we're opening terrain as quickly as we can and King Con lift should be open by the time you get here. See you in a few days!

Andy has skied the Park City area for 20 years, and is excited to finally be a full-time PC resident and call Park City Mountain Resort his home mountain.
Originally from the Pocono’s of Pennsylvania, Travis found his way to Park City three years ago and is now our grooming manager. When not in snowcat you can find him skiing or snowmobiling in the Utah backcountry or enjoying the skiing here at Park City Mountain Resort.
