Wow, I go away for a week and when I get back it feels like winter has arrived - well, at least at the beginning of this week it felt like winter, I think it was in the low 20s each morning through Wednesday! Today was a beautiful bluebird day, perfect for taking pictures of construction on our new Crescent Lift. Actually I wanted to get up top and get photos of the top terminal, which I hear is complete, but I didn't quite have time. Hopefully I'll get Jeff, our Lift Operations Manager, to send me some photos to post next week. In the meantime, here's a few photos that I took this afternoon:
What is the time frame looking like for the completion of the new lift?
Eric replies:
Eric, the haul rope arrived today and I'm pretty sure it's already up on the mountain. I'll try to get more specifics/pix etc. and post an update later this week.

How will we get to the new lift at the base of Homerun? Payday is obviously just a few steps from the ticket window, but for the life of me I can't figure out how we will get to the new lift while avoidng the mob skiing down to Payday.
Looks good though....
Eric replies:
Bryan, you know, I'm not totally sure how our ops folks are going to work this out, but I know they have a couple of different options on the table and if one isn't working, they'll try another! Looking forward to the new way up the mountain myself.

Speaking of winter.......when are the guns cranking up? Looks like some 20's at night now.
Eric replies:
Eddy, we've had our snowmaking crew ready to roll since last week, but with daytime temps hitting near 70, it doesn't make sense to turn on the guns just to have it all melt during the day! As soon as the forecast looks a bit more favorable you can be sure that you'll here the roar of the snowguns from the slopes up here.
