Opening Friday!

Here is the official news: opening day at Park City Mountain Resort will be this coming Friday, November 28! So here's my advice, take it easy on Thanksgiving Day, watch some football, eat lots of Turkey and get ready to ski and ride it all off over the next three days. We are planning to open with both PayDay and First Time Lifts, but we're still waiting to see exactly which runs we'll be opening, as always I'll post that here as soon as we know (probably sometime Thursday).
In the meantime, you can see some of the results of this weekends' snowmaking efforts in this photo gallery and I'll try to add some shots of the load test that we're doing on the new Crescent Lift today as well (woohoo!):
i am so stoked to get out there and ski! do you know when other runs and lifts are going to open?

Keep the stoke going Emily, we'll be opening additional lifts and runs just as soon as conditions permit - just need a good storm or two (or at least cold temps for snowmaking)!

What kind of resort hasn't a clue which runs will open the night before opening day, what a joke.

Jonny, none of the named parks will be open, but the park guys were planning on having some features up on the lower part of Homerun.

After getting a low rating in Transworld snow for terrain parks this past season do you plan on investing more time into your terrain park and people who actually know how to use a rake? It would be an understatement to say you guys are lacking in rail/box features, superpipe (wavy walls),and creativity.

Brandon, I don't think that rating in the top 10 in all categories is 'low', but then again, it wasn't the top spot we have been used to. Anyway, I know the terrain park crew has a bunch of new features built, they just need snow to get the parks up. So what's the cost of skiing on a mountain with two working lifts?

John, we don't know what we'll be selling lift tickets for on opening day yet as we don't know what terrain will be ready. As soon as we know, I'll be sure to post it.

How many people do you need for the load test, four for each chair? Do they have to be heavy folks?

Nope, no people, we actually use containers filled with water. Click on the slide show (above) and look for the last couple of shots to see.
