It's finally starting to look like winter in Park City and it sure felt like it today too...when I got up this morning it was in the single digits, brrrr!! It may have been chilly but my Minnesota roots were showing and I was soon out the door and headed to the mountain. Once there I enjoyed several runs down Homerun and PayDay in with the beautiful scenery of the fresh snow and I definitely noticed how much the turning is improved by a half foot plus of Utah's finest powder.
The other benefit of the cold, is that it is allowing our snowmaking crew to crank out some great base snow. They're currently blowing on: Claim Jumper, the Summit area, Pick 'N Shovel, Quarter Load, Muckers, and Silver Queen. With this and the new snow we hope to see tomorrow, we are looking at opening more terrain mid-week. This is dependant upon what sort of snowfall we get in the next day or two as well as how much snow we're able to make. Check back soon, because we'll be posting here as soon as we know what we'll be opening!
One other thing that this wintry weather reminds me of is that the Holidays are just around the corner. As a matter of fact, Santa arrives at the Town Lift Plaza, just six days from now, on Saturday, December 20. If you haven't been up for that, it's an awful lot of fun for the whole family, particularly when Santa's sleigh comes over the top of the Town runs. Check our calendar of events for details on this as well as our traditional Christmas Eve Torchlight Parade.
