Pacer521, we are currently planning on opening Jupiter this Friday - kind of our Christmas present to everyone! ;) Also, I'm hoping that Mark will write a post describing what they've been doing in order to get Jupiter ready to open.

PC used to groom 40 plus runs per day. This year, it has been closer to 20, and many of those are just cat tracks. It isn't necessarily better to groom more, but it is a very different resort when most of the mountain is not groomed. Are you planning to go back to 40 plus each night, or is 20 the new normal?

Shane, the runs we're currently grooming are mostly those that we've made snow on, because if we took snowcats onto runs that just have natural snow we'd more than likely be pulling up a bunch of dirt. Rest assured, we'll be grooming many more runs (up to 50 daily) just as soon as conditions permit.

How are forecasts for the storm looking?
I've seen 5" and 18", any idea where it'll be in that range and what that means for getting the rest of the bowls open?

Steve, our forecaster has put out an estimate of 5-7 inches out of this incoming storm. That might not make much of a dent, but it could certainly allow for some additional openings, we'll just have to wait and see...

I was just looking at the snow report and noticed the "Adventure Alleys" What are these? Thanks!

Steve, good eyes. Our "Adventure Alleys", are two new runs that wind through the woods and provide a nice and moderate introduction to skiing and riding through the trees.

Thanks for the updates on this site. I'm coming out to Park City in 9 days, and I check here every day.
Any ideas when Jupiter lift might open?

Eric, I was talking with one of our patrollers today, who told me that they have started to work on Jupiter. They have been doing explosive work along with ski cuts and still have a few more areas to work through. I'm hopeful (fingers crossed) that it will be open by the time you get here!

I understand the high temps have been getting over 32 degrees...is the snow turning to ice in the shade at the end of the day?

Dave, I haven't noticed it hardening up (we don't use the three letter word that starts with "I" here in Utah) at the end of the day - great snow surface conditions up on the mountain right now!

This is an awesome website with ton of great info...thanks so much for the daily updates!
We are coming out from DC in early Jan, can't wait for some real skiing!
