More Terrain Openings

We are opening one of my favorite lifts tomorrow, Motherlode! In my opinion, Motherlode services some of the best terrain on the mountain. There's nothing like the bumps on Fool's Gold or a run down Glory Hole, one of our Signature Runs, after 12 inches of powder have fallen after it was groomed. And new this year, is Motherlode Meadows (it needs another storm before it will open). With all of these options, I'll sure be spending a lot of time on Motherlode lift. Some of you may say, "But Krista, it's not a high-speed lift. It's soooo slow." My response, "After you've been ripping in the bumps your legs appreciate the rest!"
Here is our updated terrain opening schedule*:
Saturday, December 15:
Motherlode Lift accessing Sunnyside, Carbide Cut and Glory Hole (tentative mid-day opening)
Wednesday, December 19:
King Con Lift accessing King Con run, King Con Ridge, Temptation, Broadway and Hot Spot.
Saturday, December 22:
Shamus and Sitka runs will open, serviced by King Con Lift
Lower Jonesy's terrain park is also opening tomorrow at 10 am. Features include three jumps and five jib features (two street-style decline rails and three fun-box features). You can check out the terrain park blog here.
I'll see you on the slopes tomorrow. I'll be wearing neon green pants...you know where to find me.
Hey guys. Things are looking great especially with the current storm--but, we have a place over at Silver Star and I didn't see anything about it opening. Any info?
Krista Replies: The latest storm dumped close to foot of light fluffy snow on the Resort and the forecast is calling for even more tonight. We are scheduled to open Silver Star lift this Saturday, for uploading/downloading only. We are making snow on Spiro run so hopefully we can have a run open next week.

We are arriving on 12/29 for a week.
Do you know when the Silver Star lift is expected to open. We are staying at Silver Star Resort.
Thanks!
Krista replies: Rich, you are arriving at the perfect time. We've received nearly a foot of snow in the last 24 hours with more expected over the course of the next week. Silver Star Lift is scheduled to open this Saturday for uploading/downloading only. We hope to have Spiro Run open soon.

Been watching the updates for the past three weeks and we are getting excited with every new opening. We are arriving on the 24th and are staying very near the new Silver Star lift. We were hoping to use this as our start and finish point. Any word on when this lift may open? Thanks for all the updates.

I know I sound like a broken record but how are the runs that feed down to the Town Lift coming along?

Hello, our family is travelling to PC for Christmas and my kids all want to know about the famous superpipe. When do you think that will open?
Krista Replies:
Your kids are going to be happy XMas Travel. Pat Malendoski, our famous pipe cutter, arrived today to start working on the superpipe. We are anticipating it to open by next weekend (Saturday, December 22). Be sure to tell your kids to be on the lookout for Shaun White. Rumor has it that he'll be training here over Christmas! We'll see you next week.

Its definitely hard to get any work done done here in sunny FL with 80 degrees and no white on the ground; but the pictures have been great.(today's from McConkey's made a perfect desktop image)
We were a bit concerned the 1st week in December but its looking much better.
The info on the blog is so valuable keep the good stuff coming.
My family is headed out on the 21st for 10 days.
You didn't mention Thaynes Canyon trail and any word on the rest of King Con area?
Krista Replies:
Thanks for staying updated via our blog Jim. You and your family are going to have a great time in Park City. Have you used our Online Vacation Planner to plan your itinerary? You should check it out if you haven't. In response to your question, we are hoping to open Thaynes Canyon run as soon as condition permit. There is an area between Thaynes Lift and Glory Hole that does not have enough snow on it yet. We'll make sure to let you know as soon as it is scheduled to open. We'll see you in one week!
