Snow and the Renovated Mid-Mountain Lodge
— Posted by Krista on February 9, 2009
It is dumping! And it's been snowing all weekend. We've received over a foot and the forecasters are calling for up to 18 inches by tomorrow morning. President's week conditions will be FABULOUS. If you haven't booked your trip visit our package page for some FANTASTIC last minute deals. That really doesn't have anything to do with what I want to post about but snow is always interesting. I hate that I don't get to enjoy the fresh powder being almost 7 mos pregnant so ski some freshies for me!
If you've been up to the resort this year and been past the Mid-Mountain Lodge you've probably noticed some big changes. Obviously the exterior is a different color, but there's a lot more to it than that. I asked Kevin Donovan, our new executive chef, to give you a personal tour of one of his favorite places on the mountain.

We're commenting because we're hungry (for powder and mid-mountain!)... wish we were there...

We were also at PCMR over Christmas. Mid mountain lodge is a wonderful place to meet up for a snack. The food tasted great..by far, the best on the mountain, imho. However, I have to admit not liking the food line setup. Sure, I learned not to eat lunch at noon but the setup didn't help. The chefs did try to keep everyone amused in fine style!
Krista replies:
Wow all my old friends are commenting. Good to hear from you Chapel Hillian. I know we have had some problems with the food line setup at Mid-Mountain not being very efficient but they have been working on it. It does take a little more time to do everything made-to-order which makes the food taste oh-so-good.

Great piece. We were at PCMR over Christmas and ate at the Mid-Mountain Lodge a couple of times. Would highly recommend the Bacon Cheeseburger. One of the best that I've ever had.
Enjoy the pow! Wish I could get back there.
