If you have been on the mountain the last couple of days you've noticed that it's a bit busy. I put together a video to help you experience your own little utopia on our mountain even on our busiest day. Do you have any tips that I didn't cover?

RE: 12/30 post by Jeff and Krista's reply...
I don't know of any utah ski resorts charging $97 for lift tickets.
Krista replies:
Thanks for your comment SkiDad and you are correct, there are not any resorts in Utah charging $97. We don't just consider Utah resorts our competition. As for ticket pricing, we were $1 higher than our Utah competitors during the holiday period, however beginning on Monday we will be the same rate.

When will the crowds thin out? Do the New Years crowd usually depart on the weekend and is the very next week a good time to ski without waiting in the lift lines and fewer people on the runs?
Krista replies:
Yes, next week is a great time to ski on the mountain with less people on the mountain. We'll see you next week!

Returned home from 5 days at PC on Monday. Miss it already! Awesome trip again this year. Loved the 2 ft of pow on Christmas Day that Santa left us on his way by.
Agree with other comments. Also, use the Motherlode and Thaynes lifts as well on busy days, especially if some of these trails are groomed. Otherwise, only those more advanced can use them.
PS - Don't tell anyone, but Keystone is one of my favs at Park City. 360 days until we're back!
Krista replies:
Thanks for the tips Jersey_guy. I am glad you had a great time. We look forward to seeing you in 360 days! We'll save some snow. Happy New Year.

Totally agree with your suggestions. Here are some more...be off silverlode runs by 11am. That is when the lift backs up. We've been going over to pioneer and
Mcconkeys for the rest of the day with barely a wait. Crescent lift is key to a great start. In 4 days,we've waited a max of 15 minutes in line and that was silverlode at 11:15. Have a great day all!
Krista replies:
Thanks for your additional tips Chapel hillian. McConkey's and Pioneer lifts are some of the best on a busy day!

I'm in the middle of my vacation at PCMR, and I think you've hit the nail on the head. Yesterday, all I ran was the Cresent lift all day, and I never waiting in a line. I love the new lift! First, any idea on when the safety team is going to have Jupiter ready? And my tip for helping the mountain on a busy day: If it's a 6-pack lift, do your best to make a group of 6 by the time you hit the front of the line. It helps everybody move a bit faster, and it helps you make new friends with the people in front and behind you.
Krista replies:
Thanks for your tip about the 6-pack lift James. As you mentioned, it's great to make new friends on the lift. Regarding Jupiter, our snow safety team has been doing extensive work in Jupiter and they just don't think it's safe yet. They have triggered over a half-dozen slides in the area that have taken the snow completely to the ground. We just do not want to take any chances. Thanks for understanding and enjoy the rest of your vacation!

Today was a great day of skiing, yes there were alot of people but have seen it much worse. New crescent lift is A+ and the new run down to the mid mountain lodge is A+. Couple of complaints though. Though I do not pay this much, $86 for a lift ticket is outrageous especially since part of the mountain is closed due to lack of snow. If management wants to charge that amount in this economy that is their decision but they should also give more value like groom a few more runs including signature runs. Single Jack,Tycoon and Powder Keg needed grooming and there was only 1 signature run groomed today (silver skis) Prospector was groomed but that is always groomed. How about double jack, willys or silver king? Thanks for the sounding board.
Krista replies:
I'm glad you like the Crescent lift too Jeff. As an fyi, the part of the mountain that is not open (Jupiter) is not because of lack of snow, but rather for safety reasons. We have had over a half-dozen slides in the area that have taken the snow to the dirt and slid to the bottom of the bowl. With the recent avalanche tragedies around North America we are not taking any chances. $86 is a bargain compared to $97 at our competitors. We'll see you on the mountain.

The bit about the Crescent lift is very true. I was up there today and hopped on it with almost no lift line. I shortly found out that Silverlode and King Con were ridiculous. So we skied the front face off Crescent for a bit. Turns out the terrain there is fantastic now that we have good access to it. I love that lift.
Krista replies:
The Ski Team runs have always been my favorite Eric. And I couldn't agree with you more about how fantastic it is with the new lift.
