Wow, it's amazing what can happen in a 48 hour period. We received more than 2 feet of snow which nearly doubled our settled snow depth base! What does this mean? Get out your powder skis and call in sick to work because Jupiter Lift is going to open on Tuesday!
Our snow safety team has been done extensive avalanche control and snow safety work on the Jupiter Area. They want to do a little more work on Monday but they said that they are anticipating a Tuesday morning opening.
Amazing powder conditions can also be found in the Motherlode Lift area. We are expecting to open Motherlode tomorrow but if for any reason it's not open you can ski or ride down to King Con. In other news, our snowmaking team is continuing to work on the King Con, Town Lift and terrain park areas. Additional terrain will open as conditions permit.
I'm going to be in Jupiter Bowl on Tuesday and I hope to see you there!
Jupiter Peak will be opened via the Pearly Gates and North Shoulder gate tomorrow, Wednesday the 20th.
Pioneer Ridge will remained closed.
The ski patrol will attempt to open upper Pine cone (Pine Cone Bowl through Two Goons) on Wednesday the 20th.
If conditions are favorable, we will try for lower Pine Cone (Limber Pine to Homelight) on Thursday the 21st.
Again these openings are tentative to conditions.
Skier safety and a quality experience are of the upmost importance to us.
