One of the most common phrases you hear in a mountain town goes something like this, “I came for the winters, but I stay for the summers”. With bluebird days and temperatures approaching the high 70’s and low 80’s on a regular basis, it’s not hard to understand. This spring/summer, we are taking advantage of the less than average snowfall and have been hiking and biking well into the Wasatch Mountains since early May. Summer operations opened without having to manually remove snow from the Alpine Slide and Resort team members have already completed the annual Mountain Clean-up Day.
Taking advantage of long summer days with a post work bike ride is the ultimate “Happy Hour”. I’m not sure what you can compare to an Alpine Coaster lunch break ride, but trust me when I say it is an extreme way to break up your day. Free concerts almost nightly combined with weekly BBQ’s in the park with friends, well I hate to follow the crowd, but I too came here for the winters and stay for the summers!
Join us for an afternoon, long weekend or a summer and you’ll quickly see why. Be sure to keep your eyes open for that neighbor you weren’t expecting, moose sightings occur regularly and never fail to disappoint. Check out the calendar of events to see everything that is going on in the area over the next few months. Now excuse me, that post work bike ride is calling. I'd love to hear what summer activities keep you busy in the "off season"!
