April Powder Day: Late Season Snow Conditions are Amazing!
— Posted by Mimi on April 8, 2011
As we move closer to our final week of the season, we are still seeing amazing snow conditions. Park City locals were rejoicing as this morning brought 13 inches of powder with another 8 inches expected to fall over the course of the day. All of us here in the office had a board meeting up on Jupiter to celebrate the April Powder Day.
Couldn't be happier for this board meeting.
I find it funny that people say, "No friends on a powder day!" Back in Jupiter today, it felt like everyone was my friend. We were a community of powder hounds, excited for the spoils that each run would deliver. Complete strangers gave me high fives in the non-existent lifeline, hoots of excitement could be heard from the lift and in the trees. Any time I passed someone on a run comments were exchanged of "best day ever" "I love my life" and "I can't believe it's April." Hangovers disappeared, aches and pains were forgotten and teenage determination set in.
April Powder Day!
Many of you may have seen some high flying action in Kings Crown Terrain Park this week. We have been host to Snowboarder Magazine's The Launch, an invite only photo and video shoot for the world's best 18 and under snowboarders. This kids have been throwing huge tricks off the features built for this event and the videos and photos are more than impressive. To learn more about The Launch, visit pcride.com or snowboardermag.com.

This weekend is the last chance to enjoy some of your favorite Park City Mountain Resort offerings. Beginning Monday, Town and Silver Star lifts will no longer be operating. This means the only access up the mountain is from the base area. Snow Hut will be closing its doors for the season this Sunday. If you want to hike the peak or ride down to Town or Silver Star for lunch, this is your last weekend to do it! Will you be the last person to drop in from the Peak for the season?
