We are very excited to be partnering with Deer Valley Resort in hosting the FIS Freestyle World Ski Championships this week. Park City Mountain Resort will be hosting slopestyle and halfpipe competitions, which are being considered for inclusion in the 2014 Olympic Games.
It is a great honor to be chosen as the host resort for these events. This is the first time King's Crown will be the scene of a pro event as we see the Slopestyle event take place Wednesday and Thursday. Spectators can view the slopestyle competition from the bottom of King's Crown run, however the course itself will be closed to spectators. There will be a video board at the bottom of the course.
For Friday and Saturday's halfpipe events, spectators will be allowed on the skiers' right deck. There will also be a viewing area at the bottom of the pipe and lower Pick'n Shovel.
Here a few of the athletes to keep an eye on: Jossi Wells, Park City's own Ashley Battersby, Grete Eliassen, Sarah Burke, Jen Hudak, Simon Dumont, Bobby Brown, Alex Schlopy, Sammy Carlson and Jacob Wester.
All events are FREE to spectators. No lift ticket required.
