Some had been ski racers in high school or college, some were ski racing veterans, and others
had never skied a racing course before this event. But none of that
mattered. The Town Race Series is all about fun and community.
After a lapse of nearly 15 years, the Town Race series returned to Park City for a four-night series. It's not about your time, for some it's just about making it to the bottom. A couple of laughts and the reward of a round of beers with your friends at the nights end was more than enough for most participants to sign-up.
Park City has strong roots in ski-racing. Many local kids find themselves in weekend ski racing programs because their parents grew up participating in the sport. The Town Race Series helps celebrate this family tradition. The stories exchanged about "college ski racing days", or "back when I was young" are reason enough to find yourself at one of these races. Not to mention the bar room bragging rights that this season's winners are more than willing to remind you of.
Each night of the series saw nearly 200 competitors and event organizers hope to grow the number to 300 a night next season. We're glad to see that the Park City Town Race Series has returned with great success and continues to spread the ski racing cheer!

Andy has skied the Park City area for 20 years, and is excited to finally be a full-time PC resident and call Park City Mountain Resort his home mountain.
Originally from the Pocono’s of Pennsylvania, Travis found his way to Park City three years ago and is now our grooming manager. When not in snowcat you can find him skiing or snowmobiling in the Utah backcountry or enjoying the skiing here at Park City Mountain Resort.
