In true ski racing fashion, the season is flying by; more than half of the races at Park City Mountain Resort have finished. In this fast paced environment, it’s easy to lock yourself in the moment and go through the motions without taking in the bigger picture. However, our next races really put things into a different perspective.
The Huntsman Cup is an event put on by the National Ability Center each year on the Eagle Race Arena. It is an event that brings together the best adaptive ski racers internationally. Adaptive ski racers are those who race with disabilities, physical or mental. But these athletes aren’t slowed down by their disabilities. Whether they are skiing on one leg, in a sit ski or being guided through the course, they rip right down the hill with style and speed that is unmatched by so many. It is truly an awe-inspiring event to watch and an honor to be a part of. This inspirational race begins with giant slalom on Monday the 27th and concludes the 28th with a day of slalom.
Not long after the Huntsman Cup, the National Ability Center is putting on the Ability Snow Challenge. This is a fundraiser that benefits the National Ability Center. It is a day of festivities and racing that promises to be enjoyable for people of all ages and abilities. Race winners will be crowned during the Ability Snow Challenge. In addition, there are many other fun competitions to get people involved, such best dressed team or individual. Come out and form a team or come solo and help support a good cause. The event is Saturday, March 3rd. More information can be found at www.discoverNAC.org. Hope to see you out there!
