Almost two months ago we announced our Guess the First Snow contest. We asked people to guess when we would receive our first snowfall of six inches or more, and whoever ended up closest won two winter day lift tickets for the 2012-13 season. Snow totals are tracked through the National Water and Climate Center's sensor in Thaynes Canyon. You can track their snow totals and find more info on the sensor here.
We received hundreds of entries from people putting their meteorology skills to the test. But only three of them guessed today's date, October 24, 2012. Without further ado, with a guess of seven inches at 7 am on October 24, our winner is Eric M. Congratulations Eric.
Personally, we think we all win because it's dumping snow and Opening Day is just 24 days away!
Let it Snow.
The girlfriend and I are planning a trip to PC and love what we are finding on your site! Can wait to come down and bend some corners!

Tom,
Last year's first significant snowfall occurred a few weeks earlier, on October 6, see http://www.parkcitymountain.com/site/blog/authors/mimi/october-storm-drops-10-inches for some photos of that storm. We're all hoping for many more and larger storms as well!
