Playgrounds aren’t limited to spaces for swings and slides. They are also the mountains we ski down and hike up, the skate and terrain parks that consume our days, and where we look for our next big adventure. These playgrounds need our care however, so we , along with our sister resorts across North America, are looking for the next great idea to protect our own local environments - we call it Protect Your Playground. We're looking to YOU for them - and we're going to fund the best ones with up to $2,500 in seed money!
We, along with the rest of the Powdr Resorts family, are launching a new environmental grant program funding individuals with ideas to protect their local environments. Between us and the other locations, $40,000 in grant funds is available for the first year.
Protect Your Playground was created to empower and inspire individuals of all ages to develop solutions for environmental issues that affect their local natural playgrounds and communities. Applicants can request up to $2,500 in funding. Grants are reserved for individuals – no money will be rewarded to nonprofits or corporations. All applications must be submitted by February 21, 2014 at protectyourplayground.org.
Applications will be reviewed by members of the PCMR Green Team who will narrow down submissions to their top choices. Grant winners will be announced on Earth Day, April 22, 2014.
For additional information, visit protectyourplayground.org.
UPDATE: The submission period for Protect Your Playground project ideas closed as of Friday, February 21, 2014.
