The Torchlight Parade is quite possibly one of the greatest traditions Park City Mountain Resort has. On Christmas Eve, our ski and snowboard instructors line up at the top of PayDay, and serpentine down the run with only their torchlights to light the way, with Santa Claus bringing up the rear and making his final appearance on the mountain before taking off on his worldwide tour to deliver presents to the kids.
I'm not going to lie, it's pretty spectacular.
Since this is the 50th Torchlight Parade we've held, the Park City Mountain Resort team is stoked to commemorate such an occasion. We're all incredibly humbled and honored to have been able to spend the last 50 years within the Park City community, and love that the crowd who attends gets to spend their holiday with us. As for Santa, he's also been stopping by for the past 50 years, ever since we were the Treasure Mountains Resort, and I think it's a tradition he plans on continuing.
As always, the Torchlight Parade kicks off night skiing here at the resort. Night skiing begins Christmas Day (Wednesday, Dec. 25), and the resort will be open from 9 am - 8 pm daily, with access only on PayDay, 3 Kings and First Time lifts from 4-8pm.
