Park City Mountain Resort Legacy Fund Awards More than $25,000 to Local Nonprofit Organizations

Park City, Utah (May 10, 2012) – Park City Mountain Resort and The Park City Foundation today announced that over $25,000 has been awarded to local nonprofit organizations who applied for grants from the newly created Park City Mountain Resort Legacy Fund. This year’s recipients of grant funds include: Youth Winter Sports Alliance, Friends of the Utah Avalanche Center, Friends of King’s Peak, Habitat for Humanity: Summit and Wasatch Counties, Recycle Utah, Friends of Animals Utah, Holy Cross Ministries, Park City Performing Arts Foundation, Park City Education Foundation, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Utah: Summit/Wasatch Counties, Peace House and the People’s Health Clinic.

“After successfully raising over $500,000 for local not-for-profits through our Benefit Day, we created the Legacy Fund to offer an additional way to support the growing number of deserving organizations in this community,” said Jenni Smith, president and general manager of Park City Mountain Resort. “Although it’s never an easy job to have to narrow down the applications, we are happy to support 12 deserving organizations. We will continue to grow the Legacy Fund so that hopefully next year we can support even more of these groups that work so hard to make Summit County a better place.”

Funded by Park City Mountain Resort and managed through The Park City Foundation, the Park City Mountain Resort Legacy Fund supports nonprofit organizations in Summit County that provide the community with effective programs in the areas of environmental stewardship, children and athletics, education and social services and humanitarian aid to people in need.
