Park City, Utah (December 13, 2011) – Park City Mountain Resort celebrates the holiday season in spectacular fashion when Santa visits Town Lift Plaza on Saturday, December 17 and leads the Resort’s Torchlight Parade on Christmas Eve. Both events are free and open to the public.

On Saturday, December 17, Santa and his reindeer descend from the sky above Park City’s historic Main Street via the Resort’s Town Lift. Festivities kick off at 5:00 p.m. with Christmas carols and free hot chocolate and cookies on the Town Lift Plaza. After landing at Town Lift Plaza, Santa will take photos and field gift requests from young and old who have made his “Nice” list.

On Christmas Eve, Santa returns to the Resort, leading the Resort’s 48th Annual Torchlight Parade. Santa and the Resort’s ski and snowboard instructors illuminate PayDay run in a dazzling procession of lights, with free hot chocolate and cookies served in the Resort Plaza beginning at 5:30. After the torchlight parade, Santa will visit with guests before taking to the skies for his appointed rounds. Resort guests should also keep an eye out for Santa skiing the Resort throughout the day on Christmas Eve.

“There is no more special place to celebrate the holiday season than at Park City Mountain Resort,” said Krista Parry, director of marketing and communications at Park City Mountain Resort.  “Families come from around the world to celebrate the season with us, and many locals have made our holiday celebrations their own family tradition. We always try to help create memories that last a lifetime.”

Park City Mountain Resort also begins night operations on December 25, with night skiing and riding available at Payday lift and run, First Time lift and run and 3 Kings lift and terrain park. Night skiing and riding will be offered until 9 p.m. seven days a week until March 25, 2012.
