You've come in from a long day on the slopes and your sweet-tooth is kicking in so what now?
Sure, you can grab a package of store-bought cookies but there is nothing better than ooey, gooey goodness fresh out of the oven. Here are a few of our favorite treats to make when your ski day is done.

Ooey, Gooey Caramel Fudge Bars
If you're lacking ambition, you can just whip up a batch of refrigerated chocolate chip cookie dough but why not take it a step further with these amazing bars?
- 1 pkg. refrigerated chocolate chip dough
- 2 cups miniature marshmallows
- 12 oz. pkg. milk or semisweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup caramel or fudge ice cream topping
Bake the crust at 350 degrees for about 8-12 minutes until light golden brown. Sprinkle crust with marshmallows and chocolate chips. Return to oven and bake an additional 8-10 minutes or until marshmallows are puffy and light golden brown. Remove from oven and drizzle caramel topping evenly over bars. Cool completely and cut into bars.
Remember that saying: "When in Rome, do as the Romans." Utah is famous for their scones so why not eat like the Utahns do?
1 bag of frozen yeast rolls (i.e. Rhodes Rolls)
2 Quarts of frying Canola oil
Toppings such as cinnamon sugar, powdered sugar or the Utah favorite: honey butter.
- Set out the Rhodes Rolls on a greased pan before you leave in the morning so they can rise while you're gone.
- After the dough has risen several hours, roll it out and cut it into 2X2-inch squares (or however big you'd like). Be sure not to smash it down or stretch it out because it won't puff up.
- Heat the oil. It will be ready when a 1" cube of bread is browned in 60 seconds (be careful not to over or undercook.)
- Cook 2-3 scones scones at a time. Make sure to flip over in the oil when golden. Remove when both sides are done.
- Be sure to have a plate of paper towels upon which to place the scones to dab off the oil.
- Top immediately with cinnamon sugar or your favorite topping.
Less Prep, Still Delicious
If you'd like something quick and easy, here are a few other ideas:
- Homemade ice cream sandwiches. Grab your favorite cookies and put a dollop of ice cream in between them.
- Yogurt parfaits. All you need to do is layer yogurt, berries and granola.
- Rice Krispie Treats. Three ingredients (butter, marshmallows and Rice Krispies) make for a blissful, easy treat.
