Barb's Trip Diary: Day Four
What a difference a day makes!
In the past three days, the week before Christmas, 51 inches of snow has fallen at Park City Mountain Resort. Today, we could finally get out and enjoy ourselves.
My husband Bob picked up his rental skis and hit the slopes with Carter, and Erica and Kristin of the National Ability Center.
Carter was able to try out the new KartSki (aptly named!) the NAC received through a grant from the Christopher Reeves Foundation. I knew when I saw it two weeks ago that it was the perfect blend of a bi-ski and mono-ski with poles. He LOVED it. It gave him a new found sense of control he didn’t have before.
Connor and I FINALLY had the chance to ride the Alpine Coaster. I knew he’d love it but was worried it would stay closed because of the weather and he’d never get the chance while we were here. But today we rode it TWICE! We rode in the same car which makes it much faster.
I screamed the entire way down for Connor to brake and slow it down. He didn’t of course, and just laughed and laughed.
What great memories he will always have of scaring the bejeezers out of his mom.

So glad you were finally able to ride the alpine coaster.
Seeing that video of Carter just makes me happy. :)
