I had a snowboarder run into me while I was standing still and was taken off the PC Mt by helicopter. Lots of injuries, bones and internal liver damage...but the trauma docs kept telling me how lucky I was that I had my helmut on. It saved my life (according to them). I'm a good skier, obey all the rules, am conscious of who is around me and where I am. It can happen to anyone, anywhere. Why wouldn't someone wear a helmut?
