When we originally decided to spend July 4th in Park City last year it was to "work" on our condo for the week. It all came into place as our renter was moving out July 1st and we had to come to Park City to meet with our contractor to discuss remodeling our condo. So I asked our real estate agent/good friend Joel Fine what was there to do in Park City on July 4th. Little did I know that he was/is Chairman of the 4th of July Celebration and has helped organize it for the last six years along with other Park City Ambassadors. He gave us a whole list of the activities planned for the 4th of July and we thoroughly enjoyed the entire day of celebration! On top of that we enjoyed Park City Mountain Resort's Summer Adventures by riding the alpine coaster, zip line, Town Lift and then hiking back down the trails at Park City Mountain Resort as they extend their hours on this day!
There are other activities planned for the entire week and they can be found on the Park City Chamber and Visitors web site.

I can say from personal experience that spending July 4th in Park City is as "American" as baseball, hot dogs and apple pie. From the pancake breakfast, parade, great food, live music (including Mayor Dana Williams "MotherLode Canyon band) and the fireworks the entire day of celebration brings you back in time when communities use to enjoy spending the day with family and good friends. This type of community event doesn't exist in too many places, but it's alive and thriving in Park City!
Make sure that you 'stake" your spot out for the parade with chairs as the locals had their chairs out in strategic spots at the crack of dawn...not kidding!
We have already booked our trip to Park City for this years 4th of July celebration as it's one of our can't miss events of the year! Where will you be July 4th?
