Trip Diaries:

I decided to take three kids, aged 8, 9 and 11 for a ski trip on my own, without my husband. This is the first ever trip I have done alone with the kids.

I’m always looking for fun things to keep my kids occupied on trips. This year, during our latest trip to Park City Mountain Resort, my kids came up with a great activity.

I’m five minutes late, I don’t know where to meet my instructor, I can’t remember which pocket has my ski lesson card and I don’t know when to click on my skis.

On a family ski weekend to Park City Mountain Resort, I awoke at 3 in the morning to the sound of howling winds and pouring rain. Rain? In January? It happened.

Picture this: You have been dying to try a new Park City restaurant so you drag your two young children along. Within minutes, your son starts clanging his spoon on his glass and your daughter throws her Cheerios at the waitress.

Ever since we embraced the Midwest winters, the cold hasn't felt as cold and the winters have not dragged on as they did before. In fact, the cold, ice and snow now serve a great purpose - to entertain all of us and to get us outdoors!
