The Mountain Biathlon is a unique, enjoyable and challenging event that will help to promote and raise money to protect our forests and wildlife while reducing our carbon footprint. The biathlon will entail an air rifle target range, a trail run and mountain biking, all at Gorgoza Park. Enjoy beautiful air and scenic forest trails, at the country's premier mountain resorts, while having the time of your life! Test your skills on the air rifle target range, combined with either trail running or mountain biking. It may just be the most fun you've ever had! Race proceeds will be used to maintain clean healthy sustainable forests by: Removing the standing dead and opening up the forests for new growth, Assisting with new plantings if deemed prudent by the Forest officials, and Replanting both on and off-site. Using standing dead in a responsible way will reduce our carbon footprint by hundreds of thousands of tons. All proceeds will go towards managing and maintaining healthy sustainable forests and promoting sustainable renewable energy in cooperation with local jurisdictions and forest officials.
The format will be a little different than last year. We will do both events on Saturday, August 23. The MTB Biathlon will start at 10:30am and go until approximately 12:00pm. The Trail Run Biathlon will start at 1:00pm and go for approximately an hour. Registration will start at 9:30am. This will make it easier for those driving further distances to participate in both events and it will make it a little more challenging for people doing both.
Choose either the Double Shot Challenge (Trial Run & Mountain Bike), Trail Run or Mountain Bike. Event registration is available here.
