Tour Summary
This tour will get your adrenaline pumping and your legs burning. You'll be skiing or boarding around most of Park City Mountain Resort, and along the way you'll enjoy spectacular vistas, including views from the top of McConkey's and King Con Lifts. As you tour the mountain you'll negotiate a wide variety of runs, including many of our Signature Runs (groomed runs that aren't typically groomed due to their advanced nature).
Tour Tips
Due to varying conditions, we recommend you use the Daily Groomed Runs Map as well as our official Mountain Guide in conjunction with this Planner.
Scenic photo opportunities on this tour:
• The top of the King Con Lift looking over Crescent Ridge towards the town of Park City.
• The top of McConkey’s Lift looking back into Guardsman Pass Area.
Did you know?
A Single Jack was a 2 pound hammer used by one miner to drive a hole into rock for placing dynamite. The Double Jack was a 5 pound hammer. One miner wielded the double jack with two hands, while a second miner held and turned the bit to produce the dynamite hole.
If you are feeling more confident try the following more difficult runs:
Seldom Seen run,
Creole run,
Muckers run,
Chance run and
Heckler run.
Signature Runs
Conquer more of the mountain with our Signature Runs. These are runs not typically groomed because of their advanced nature. Look for them on your trail map and on-mountain signage.
Mountainzones Overview
Park City Mountain Resort offers the freedom to explore our unique mountain topography through seven distinct Mountainzones. Each Mountainzone presents a variety of terrain that allows nearly every ability level the opportunity to enjoy the area.
The seven Mountainzones are broken up by lifts that serve the area. They include the Mountainzones of the easily accessible PayDay/Town, challenging Crescent, centrally-located Silverlode/Bonanza, Intermediate nirvana King Con/Silver Star, More Difficult Thaynes/Motherlode, Expert only Jupiter and Majestic McConkey’s/Pioneer.
Discover one Mountainzone at a time, or find out how easy it is to navigate from one to another. To get information on all of our Mountainzones, please click here.
This Tour's Featured Mountainzone:

The McConkey’s/Pioneer Mountainzone is served via the
McConkey's lift and the
Pioneer lift. In addition, this Mountainzone offers a variety of hikes that are reached from
McConkey's lift,
Jupiter lift and
Pioneer lift.
The terrain options in the McConkey’s/Pioneer Mountainzone range from:
- The sunny pitches off the runs from
Hawkeye run to
Sampson run. - The chutes off of
Jupiter Peak. - The bowl skiing in
Puma Bowl,
Blue Slip and
McConkey's. - The evergreen glades of the
Black Forest run and the aspen glades of
10th Mountain run. - The Signature Runs
Sunrise run and
Blue Slip run.
We recommend the Pioneer/McConkey’s Mountainzone for skiers and riders comfortable with Intermediate runs and above, although an Easier run (
Homerun run) is accessible off Pioneer Lift.
The easterly facing runs off of Pioneer Lift are best experienced in the morning, once the sun has slightly softened the snow, which can make for butter-like turns down
Comstock run,
Red Fox run and
Hawkeye run.
The old miner’s boarding house that is now the newly remodeled
Mid Mountain Restaurant restaurant is the perfect lunch stop, located towards the bottom of this Mountainzone on the
Mid-Mountain run.
