Adult Group Lessons

This is the ultimate introduction to the sport of skiing or snowboarding. We assure that your experience will be positive and stress free. The Learn To Ski or Snowboard Experience features:

• Specially designed skis and snowboards included in lesson price (minors must be accompanied by an adult when picking up rentals)
• Small class size (5 students per instructor)
• Highly qualified instructors
• The most effective teaching method

Your instructor will greet you on the slopes across the Skiway from the PayDay steps. You may pick up your rental equipment from Park City Mountain Rentals the evening prior to your lesson for your convenience (minors must be accompanied by an adult). Otherwise plan on arriving at least an hour prior to your lesson to pick up your rentals. Small class sizes assure that your instructor will be able to provide you with a hands-on teaching technique and one-on-one feedback. We are so confident in this lesson that we guarantee you will be riding the First Time Chair lift with comfort by the end of the lesson.

Reservations are strongly recommended to ensure lesson availability. To make a reservation, call 1-800-222-PARK. Changes and cancellations may be made up to 24 hours prior to the lesson at no charge. Any changes or cancellations made within 24 hours are subject to a $50 fee.

These lessons are for beginners through intermediates (levels 2-4) and focus on building a solid foundation of fundamental skills and movements necessary for efficient snowboarding. This is where you'll begin to develop and build upon the skills that every snowboarder needs to explore the mountain. Let our Pro's instill confidence while they take your riding to the next level, safely and effectively.

Level 2: Experience the fun and excitement of skiing or snowboarding with the ability to comfortably control where you go and how fast or slow you go on our beginner terrain. For snowboarders you should be able to traverse on both edges of the snowboard and perform a falling leaf. You will continue to develop the skills to allow you to consistently link turns.

Level 3: This is where the freedom of skiing or snowboarding begins! You will begin to explore more of the mountain and develop confidence on steeper terrain, learning more about speed control through the use of different size and shape turns.

Level 4: Now you're starting to feel confident that you can control your speed and location on the mountain. It's time to start learning the more advanced techniques of turning! In this clinic you will explore more of the mountain and be introduced to blue terrain. You'll ski or ride on all green terrain and on the gentler of the blue runs.

This is a lesson program specifically for higher-level skiers. These workshops focus on specific skill levels and individual goals, such as fine-tuning a parallel turn, introduction to bumps, dealing with black diamonds and, finally, the all-mountain workshop that addresses all terrain and conditions. The performance series is a true departure from the traditional ski school lesson. So much so that we guarantee you will ski 10,000 vertical feet (that's about 8 runs off our upper mountain lift network).

Workshop: Beyond Parallel

The focus of this workshop will be the fundamental skills required to consistently make parallel turns with rhythm and style. We will also help you develop a strong understanding and use of the ski poles and various turns. This workshop is a must if you aspire to make skiing effortless! (Level 5 – 6)

Workshop: Dealing with the Diamonds

This workshop will make the start and finish of your turn a priority. These two parts of a turn are critical elements on black diamond terrain. The ability to link parallel turns with a variety of turn shapes, link turns with more speed (but still in control) and link parallel turns with a functional pole plant are all parts of dealing with the diamonds. By mastering this technique, becoming an all mountain skier should be an exciting and enjoyable process. (Level 6 – 7)

Workshop: Moguls and Beyond

Where do moguls come from? "Well…I’m not sure, but know I don’t want to ski where they are!" If you feel this way about bumps or are looking to expand your range of skills as a skier, this is the workshop for you. To ski bumps you need to have a solid short radius turn, a strong pole plant and a tactical approach to skiing. When you finish the Moguls and Beyond workshop, you will. Your skills as a skier will improve dramatically, and you'll find many new areas to enjoy on the mountain. (Level 6 – 7)

Workshop: All-Mountain Workshop

This is where you take all the skills you have and refine them to become an all mountain skier. Whether conditions are like a postcard or sun-baked crust, our Pros will help you develop the most effective movements to deal with whatever the mountain has in store. You'll ski moguls, steeps powder, groomed…you name it! Our Pros will show you some of the best places to ski on our mountain, and at the same time, show you a thing or two that to take your skiing to the next level. This workshop is not for the faint of heart. Advanced and stronger skiers only! (Level 8+)

These workshops are for advanced riders who wish to "Arc it or Park it" and anything in between. The Performance Series are specialized lessons for advanced styles of riding. The lessons are available for advanced riders only. Rider must be a strong level six who is able to ride the whole mountain.

Park and Pipe Session:

For riders level six and up. This session is designed to help you develop and hone your skills in the terrain parks and half pipe. Learn to ride the pipe, pump a transition or get air off a kicker. You will be able to tackle the Pipes and Parks after the Park and Pipe Session.

Peak Performance Free-ride Clinic:

For riders level six and up. This clinic is for those who want to work on off-piste bumps, trees steeps or anything else the mountain can throw at them. This clinic will deal with steep aggressive terrain – no groomed runs.

This clinic is just what the Doctor ordered for all you "Hot Shots" (level 7 & 8) and is coached by our most experienced Pros. Coaching sessions will focus on making you a stronger, technical skier while skiing in a variety of terrain and conditions. Power Clinics are not designated for the Vertical Guarantee due to time constraints.
