ASK A SNOWMAMA: Are There any Christmas Activities for Young Children Being Offered?
QUESTION: We will be in Park City from December 17 through December 26. I have a six year old daughter. Are there any Christmas activities for young children being offered?
Asked by Helen on November 5, 2009
ANSWER: The holidays are my favorite time of year around Park City. There are several activities taking place during this time. First, on December 19, Santa descends into Park City via the Town Lift (located on historic Main Street). This is a community favorite and hundreds of kids, young and old, await his arrival on the Town Lift Plaza. Festivities begin at 5 pm with storytelling, Sugar Buzz elfs sharing holiday treats, holiday music, hot chocolate and more. You can read about last year's event here.
Santa makes a special visit to Park City Mountain Resort on December 24. He skis around the mountain during the day and then brings up the caboose during their traditional torchlight parade at 6 pm that evening. It is quite the spectacle and something your daughter would love (and you too!).
The Egyptian Theatre Company is putting on "A Christmas Carol" from December 18-31. They haven't released the details yet but you can purchase tickets here.
I will make sure to update this post as additional activities are added. I look forward to meeting you!
