Become a Snowmama/Snowpapa
In the ski industry Labor Day weekend is a reminder that the ski season is just around the corner. The temperatures drop, the buzz around the Resort is alive and the search for new Snowmamas/Snowpapas begins. As a Snowmama/Snowpapa you provide real world tips and advice to make family winter vacation planning easier... plus you make a lot of great snow-loving friends in the process.
If you fit this bill, mark September 14 on your calendar as it's when the application process to "Become a Snowmama/Snowpapa" begins. But the time to start preparing what you are going to say is now. Although we can't say what the application will look like, we've asked the selected Snowmamas from last year for a few of their tips on how to stand out in the crowd. Here is what they had to say:
"Be creative, imaginative, fun and really let your personality shine through."
"Do you have a specific interest? For example, skiing with teens, traveling peanut-free, getting away with just your husband because you haven't been away from your children in years ..."
"Show the passion you have for the outdoors. Incorporate the family."
"Write as if you're writing for a friend. But not an "old we can talk about anything friend". More like, "we're on the PTA together and we bonded kind of quickly, but it will be a while before I tell you about the time I was arrested."
"Be your ski-lovin' self!"
"Why do you think you would make a great Snowmama? Make it obvious to the reader the value you would add to a fab group of passionate, snowsports loving parents."
Now it's your turn. We can't wait to hear what you have to say on September 14!

OK, it's September 14th, where can I get an application to become a SnowPapa? I've been trying for two years and I can't wait to give it another shot.
