Ask a Snowmama: How do you handle nut allergies?
My 9 yr old child is allergic to all nuts - will he be safely cared for at ski school?
We have many children allergic to nuts that come and ski or snowboard with us each season, and yes we will care for him well.
When purchasing his tickets/lessons you will give his allergy information to the seller, and that information will be printed on his ticket. Please also remind us and ask for a supervisor when checking him in on the morning of lesson out on the snow, we will want to make his instructor aware of this, and discuss if needed an epi pen?
There are no peanut oils used at any of our on mountain restaurants, and your son will be able chose his own lunch from all items available. Our brownies which do include nuts are marked as such. There may be other children in his group, is the severity of his allergy such that no other children near him can be allowed nuts? If so we can make additional accommodation, so please make me aware of that, due to other participants who could provide their own pocket snacks, as well as the desserts available for their choice daily.
