Proposed Improvements

Silverlode Express and Eagle Chairlift Replacements

Park City Mountain has heard the community’s desire for continued mountain investment, and we are excited to be planning two lift replacements as a direct and meaningful next step resulting from that feedback, pending approvals. These replacements are about making the ski day better - shorter lift lines, smoother circulation, and easier access to the terrain and experiences we all love.

These projects reflect our commitment to continued investment and practical dialogue with the community. We are thrilled to build on our history of significant improvements and upgrades, and we look forward to conversations beyond these lift projects about what is important to the Park City community. Our entire team is excited for the work ahead as we continue transforming and improving the Park City Mountain experience. Vail Resorts has invested more than $144 million in the resort since 2015.

Frequently Asked Questions

Pending approvals, and separately from the Eagle chairlift replacement, Park City Mountain is planning to replace the existing 6-passenger Silverlode Express chairlift, located mid-mountain on the south side of Thaynes Canyon, with a new 8-passenger lift along the same alignment.
This lift replacement would reduce lift line wait times and help move guests around the mountain better.
Pending approvals, and separately from the Silverlode chairlift replacement, Park City Mountain is planning to replace the existing fixed-grip triple Eagle and Eaglet chairlifts, accessed from the Mountain Village base area. A new 6-person detachable chairlift would have a midstation and terminate near the top of King Con Express.
This lift replacement would modernize the lift experience, improving access to beginner and intermediate terrain, supporting ski and ride school, and improving connections to popular advanced terrain.
This lift replacement would alleviate pressure on First Time and reduce lift lines at Payday and Crescent, improving the guest experience at all portal lifts, including during inclement weather. It will give guests of all skill levels dependable options for uploading, getting them more quickly to their favorite terrain - both front-side and beyond.
We are always looking for opportunities to invest in the guest experience at Park City Mountain. These two separate projects are planned in response to consistent guest feedback, and we are excited to see how they reduce lift line wait times and enhance access to all types of terrain.
